Daily ExpressUMS FC move to top of groupMonday, September 27, 2010Kota Kinabalu: UMS FC moved to the top of the order in Group B of the National Felda/FAM Futsal League, after registering two victories, including against three-time finalist, Police.
The women's team from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, now has 12 points after adding to the six points won from their earlier two matches.
They now need just one more victory to secure one of four final slots reserved for their group.
UMS FC picked up the valuable six points from victories over Johor and Police.
They came back strong from the month-long tournament break by thrashing Johor 5-0, while their match against Police on Sunday was won 3-1.
Currently second in the group standings is Selangor MPSJ, who notched a 1-0 victory against the Sabah women's team. But the Sabah women's team managed to get one point back from a 3-3 draw against Selangor MBPJ FC in the second game.
They are third with seven points, while Police with four points but have a game in hand is currently in fourth place.
Sadly, the same success cannot be said for the state men's team.
After slumping to their third straight defeat in the competition, their hopes of making it into final is as good as gone.
They played against KL Figos RSA FC in their second game but results were not available at press time.
