Star AfricaLibya won the UNAF trophy29/09/10Libya has won the indoor soccer championships organized by the North African Football Union (UNAF) after defeating Morocco 4-3 in the final Sunday. The hosts preserved their title with a convincing victory in front of a vocal home crowd.
Libya quickly made their mark on the final with goals from Mohamed Selimane (2nd minute), Hemd Chouyen (19th) and Abdelhakim Charkassya (26th), but each time they scored Morocco replied scoring goals in the 6th, 26th and 28th minute. The goal that made the difference came in the 36th minute courtesy of Rabii Houti.
Morocco’s young side fought every inch of the way, and their coach felt the refereeing had been a little tough on them. Libya finishes champions with 12 points, followed by Morocco on 9 points and Tunisia in third place. Libyan Alsharif won the title of best goalkeeper while his compatriot Chouyen finished top scorer with six goals, ahead of the Moroccan pair of Chrayeh and Baya.
