Futsal fever hits Alstonville

30th September 2010

FUTSAL fever hit Alstonville recently with the first players' mentoring day on the Far North Coast.

Junior State representatives were given the chance to learn and develop their skills with the assistance of the FNC open men's team.

The day was run in conjunction with an FFA approved referees' course and coaching information session.

The highlight of the day was when the best local talent played an exhibition match against the best Brazilian players from the Gold Coast.

FNC won, showing the depth of quality in the area.

Other player mentoring days will be held through the coming Futsal season building up to the FFA National Futsal championships in January.

It is not too late to nominate a team or sign on for Futsal. The indoor version of soccer caters for all standards and abilities, with competitions in Alstonville, Ballina, Casino, Evans Head, Lismore, Kyogle and Mullumbimby.

For more information on Futsal or to register, contact Robyn Lawrence 0488-288827.
