Solomon Star NewsNoro futsal team tour near endsFriday, 01 October 2010THE Noro U12 futsal team will conclude their futsal friendly tour challenge tomorrow at the Multipurpose Hall.
The U12 futsal team came all the way from Noro Western Province last week to play futsal clubs in Honiara.
Noro Futsal Association President Levis Belapanda who was in charge of the team said that one of the team’s aim of their short tour was to get his players exposed by coming here in Honiara for the friendly challenge.
He said the team is the first ever kid’s futsal team in Noro and coming to Honiara for friendly matches was a great opportunity for the kids to get the real feel of the game.
“For the kids it is also their first time to play futsal against any Honiara based futsal team”, Belapanda said.
He added that the tour and friendly challenge is part of their futsal development program in the Western Province.
Coach Alick Collin said hewas satisfied with their performance since the U12 started their friendly matches at the Multipurpose Hall last week.
The U12 team got the chance to play against the Kurukuru U14, Hurricanes, and Destiny Royals and will be playing Koloale futsal team today.
The team did lose some of their matches but it was no surprise since they are new to the game.
Meanwhile, Belapanda appeals to the people of Western province to show support for these young lads who have put so much in their game.
He also appealed to SIFF to build a futsal pitch not only in Gizo as proposed by the OFC but also in Noro since it has great area of land and many people especially kids.
