Abbotsford soccer comp for a good cause

SOCCER players will get their kicks for a good cause at Victoria Park this Saturday.

The Fair Play Cheap Thrills Futsal Soccer Competition - featuring 16 teams, including ones representing radio stations PBS and RRR - will kick-off at noon.

All money raised will support two charities aimed at creating sporting opportunities for disadvantaged youth, Happy Football Cambodia Australia and the Collingwood Allstars Soccer Program.

Organiser Jon Hammond said it was the seventh time the competition had been scheduled.

He said while the five-a-side soccer tournament was the centrepiece of the day, there’d be a host of activities to keep families entertained.

The Fair Play Cheap Thrills Futsal Soccer Competition is at Victoria Park, Abbotsford, from noon on Saturday, October 16.
