MEDITERRANEAN FUTSAL CUP HOPEFULS DISCOVER FATEHosts and founders of the first Mediterranean Futsal Cup, Libya will face a challenge from African rivals Morocco as well as Greece and Syria as drawn on Wednesday at the Hotel Rixos Al Nasr in Tripoli.
16 teams were in the draw for the biggest futsal tournament ever to be held in Africa and the stature of the FIFA approved tournament was underlined by the presence of Spanish Futsal Legend Javier Lozano, who has pledged his support to the tournament and Libyan Futsal, saying “Libya can compete for the World Cup in 8 years”.
Group B saw Slovenia joined by France, Albania and Algeria, while Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus, Malta and Tunisia made up group C and Croatia, Turkey, Palestine and Lebanon completed the draw in Group D.
The 1st Mediterranean Futsal Cup kicks off on 1st November with the opening ceremony and the opening game, where hosts Libya take on Syria in front of a huge crowd inside 23rd September Hall, Tripoli.
