CAPTAIN KILBRIDE CALLED UP FOR ENGLAND

Kilbride becomes the fourth Boro captain to receive the call up for the Three Lions

Jason Kilbride has become the fourth Middlesbrough captain to be called up to the England Futsal squad this week for a training camp, continuing a proud tradition of the Teesside team.

England manager Peter Sturgess has called Kilbride up to the provisional squad for the friendly double header against Andorra. Kilbride will hope to impress and earn his first full international caps in Loughborough on 12th and 13th November.

Speaking exclusively to BoroFutsal.com he said: “I’m so happy to get the call up to the England squad and hopefully I can impress and carry on where I left off from playing for Great Britain (in the World University Championship). I didn’t expect it so I am over the moon.”

Jason played an integral part for Great Britain as they finished 11th in the World Championship in Serbia, which has given him a springboard to the England squad. He now turns his attentions to making the England squad for the friendlies against Andorra and the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifiers in Macedonia in January.

“When I was given the captaincy of Boro I knew had big footsteps to follow in. It would be great to earn my first caps so soon and I will do my best. It’s just such an honour to be involved and have the chance to learn and develop.”

England take on Andorra at Loughborough University (Sir David Wallace Building) on Friday 12th (7.30pm) and Saturday 13th (7pm) November. Tickets are priced £4 adults and £2.50 under-16s and students and can be bought from Middlesbrough Futsal Club.
