MVP Mordej thinks Slovenia can win the Mediterranean Futsal Cup
by
Damon Shaw from Tripoli
Rok Mordej was influential in Slovenia’s 6-1 quarter final victory over Balkan rivals Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 23rd September Hall, Tripoli, Libya to book their place in the semi finals against either Croatia or Morocco and he has laid down the marker, saying that Slovenia can go on and win the 1st Mediterranean Futsal Cup.
Mordej scored a brace of stunning strikes but he contributed much more to an accomplished performance by the Slovenians including a last ditch slide tackle to keep the score at 1-0.
Speaking to Futsalplanet.com for his MVP award, Mordej said that he thinks they can win the 1st Mediterranean Futsal Cup.
“I think we have a very good team but in the semi we will face Croatia they are very good. When we play well we can win the tournament.
“I’m happy (with my two goals) but the most important thing is that we win.”His two goals were accompanied by a late brace from Sebastijan Drobne and two goals in the first half from Kristijan Cujec and Damir Pertic. Bosnia and Herzegovina did get a consolation when Haris Harba scored his third of the tournament, but it was never going to dent Slovenia’s charge.
