XinhuaBrazil defeats Hungary 4-2 in futsal friendly8/11/2010The Brazilian national team beat Hungary 4-2 on Sunday in a futsal friendly in the city of Cuiaba, Mato Grosso.
Brazil lost to Spain in the finals of the Grand Prix of Futsal.
Head coach Marcos Sorato recorded his first win after his team's 163-game winning streak came to an end against Spain.
Sorato restructured his list of players on the national team. However, he was unable to count on the talent of Falcao and Lenisio, both of whom are playing in the finals of the Brazilian League of Futsal. For these reasons, Brazil had trouble finding rhythm on the floor.
Hungary's tight defense left Brazil scoreless throughout much of the first half. However, off a great individual play from Murilio, an open Wander Carioca pushed in a pass to score the game's first goal. Before the half came to an end, Wander Carioca pounded a one-timer into the back of the visiting team's goal.
Hungary returned in the second half to score their first goal when Richard knocked in a great pass. Brazil responded minutes later when Murilo angled in a strong shot. Hungary responded soon after by scoring the game's best goal.
Nemeth stole the ball on defense, dribbled down the court, head-faked the defense and opened up enough room to slam the ball into the upper left corner of the Brazilian goal. Murilo scored once more before time expired, finishing the match with a 4-2 victory.
The next friendly against Hungary will be on November 9 in the city of Joinville, Santa Catarina.
