BORO CAPTAIN MAKES THE SQUAD FOR ENGLAND VS. ANDORRAJason Kilbride could make his full England debut this weekendJason Kilbride, Middlesbrough Futsal Club’s captain, attended a three day training camp with the England Futsal Team last weekend and has impressed enough to be included in the squad for the upcoming games against Andorra in Loughborough.
If he makes his debut, he will be the fourth Boro captain in a row to earn an England cap, something that leaves his manager, Damon Shaw very proud.
Damon Shaw, who is currently on international duty himself at the Mediterranean Futsal Cup in Libya, is delighted that Jason decided to stay at Boro. “Jason was considering moving home after University, but he found a masters course and stayed for futsal. We’re a young team and to lose a captain like Jason would have been a blow, especially with the experience he’ll gain from the England coaches and international games.”
Jason played an integral part for Great Britain as they finished 11th in the World Championship in Serbia, which has given him a springboard to the England squad. He will now get his first taste of a full international against Andorra and will hope to do enough to make the squad for the UEFA EURO 2012 preliminary round in Macedonia in January.
England take on Andorra at Loughborough University (Sir David Wallace Building) on Friday 12th (7.30pm) and Saturday 13th (7pm) November. Tickets are priced £4 adults and £2.50 under-16s/students and can be bought from Middlesbrough Futsal Club.
