MIDDLESBROUGH UNDER-18S TRIALS ON FRIDAYMiddlesbrough Futsal Club are on the lookout for players of the future
Boro are holding trials for a new under-18s team on FRIDAY 26th November at Middlesbrough College from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Middlesbrough Futsal Club Academy have teamed up with Middlesbrough College to form a team that will help to develop players for Middlesbrough’s first team over the next few years.
Trials for the academy under-18s team will take place at Middlesbrough College Sports Hall at 5.30pm until 7.30pm on Friday 26th November and it’s open to anybody between the ages of 15 and 18 (on 31st August 2010).
Players who impress will be asked to return the following Friday and training will be every week thereafter during term time. Sessions are £3 per week (£2 for students at Middlesbrough College). The under-18s will play matches throughout the season against other under-18s teams and in various tournaments and some players will have the opportunity to play for Middlesbrough in national league and cup games.
“An under-18s team is the logical step if we are to keep our first team at the top. The first team is young and opportunities for anybody excelling in the under-18s will be plenty as we’ve proven with the likes of Mikey Roberts and Josh Philips, who both made their debuts at 17. We are proud of our young team of local talent and this way we can find the players at an earlier age and prepare them technically and tactically for the first team,” explained Chairman and First team manager Damon Shaw.
“We will also use this group of players for youth competitions and college tournaments so they will get valuable experience in real matches.”
Players can just turn up on 26th November and you can get more information on BoroFutsal.com or by emailing academy@borofutsal.co.uk
