Yorkshire Female coaches wanted who are up for Futsal

A Futsal Coaching Course specifically for female coaches within Yorkshire is being offered as part of the Regional Mentoring Scheme ran by the four Yorkshire County FA’s.

The course is designed to give candidates an understanding of the Futsal Laws of the Game including how it differs from the 5-a-side game, an understanding of the fundamental principles and basic techniques as well as the importance Futsal plays in the development of young players.

Coaches that are registered with the scheme are assigned one of a handful of experienced, carefully selected coaches who are on hand to offer one-to-one advice and support.

Throughout the year registered coaches will also be invited to a series of different workshops specifically aimed at female coaches and will receive discounts towards other County FA ran courses the first of 2011 being the Futsal Coaching course.

The Regional Mentoring Scheme was launched 18 months ago to offer support to female coaches in the area by the Women’s and Girl’s Football Development Officers from the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA, North Riding, West Riding and East Riding.

What began as a series of coaching demonstrations and in-service events spread over a month has grown to become the Yorkshire Regional Female Coach Mentoring Scheme. The Scheme is designed to facilitate the development of all coaches involved in female football to enable them to achieve their own coaching potential, whatever level or capacity this may be. The aim is to increase the knowledge and confidence amongst active coaches whilst offering guidance and support to the potential coaches of the future.

Time: 9:30am – 4:30pm

Cost: £40 – (Free to Mentors)

Venue: Concord Sports Centre, Shiregreen Lane, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S5 6AE

Minimum age for candidates is 16. Practical involvement is required. There is no formal assessment and no refresher required.
