Manchester sign professional Spanish Futsal Player and Current Spanish Beach Soccer International

Manchester Futsal Club is proud to announce that current Spanish beach soccer international and former professional Futsal player, Eduardo Jimenez Betancor joined the squad for 2010/11 season.

Known by the vast majority as “Wayo”, this fantastically skilful player acquired his experience and forged his talent by playing six seasons in Spanish Division de Plata (2nd division) in teams such as Colegio Aregas Galdar, Lanzarote Playas del Sur, Muebles Lety Tenerife and Mapacasa Remudas.

Wayo’s technique and determination made of him eligible for the Spanish beach soccer national team, qualifying 5th at the 2009 Dubai Beach Soccer World Championship. Eduardo scored key goals such as the equalizer against Japan and the fifth goal against El Salvador, proved to be crucial at the end of the match. The Spanish player is especially motivated this season and very happy when he found that Futsal was being played in the United Kingdom. Having come to learn English, he finds the opportunity of playing in the country as a “very exciting one”, also stating that “I was surprised when I discovered such a fantastic team and quality of the people on it” also “being surprised by the level of the game and players at Manchester Futsal Club”.

Certainly, the quality of Manchester Futsal Club as a whole will increase with the addition of such an experienced player, who will share with the team his invaluable knowledge of futsal. The addition of Eduardo will hopefully help MFC in their ambition to become champions of the FA National Futsal League North at the end of the season.
