Three girls from the Bellingen High 14 years girls Futsal team have been selected to represent Australia on international tours.
The girls have just returned from Runaway Bay where they competed at the Australian Champion of Champions and reached the semi-final stage. This was a fantastic result with more to come. At these Championships three girls were identified as exemplary and were selected to represent Australia! Two of the girls, Sam Barker and Jessica Marks (both only 13 this year) were selected in the 14 years girls Futsal team to travel to Barcelona from May 2 – 19, 2011. The third player, Hannah Taylor, was selected in the 15 years girls Futsal team to travel to Rhyl, Wales from April 13 – 30, 2011.

This is a really special opportunity for these girls to play with and against some of the best players of their respective ages in the world! Obviously, these trips come at a substantial cost and the girls will be working hard, trying to raise money for the trip. If there are any community groups, businesses or individuals willing to help in any way, please contact Liz Hoy at Bellingen High School (66551315).

These amazing offers are on the back of the most successful season of Futsal for the local high school which saw four teams from BHS make the Australian schools semi-finals. This also was an enormous community effort with lots of support from many businesses, community groups and individuals to get these teams to Runaway Bay. Let’s now support these three girls and allow them to represent their country. Thanks for your support!
