The TennesseanCommunity raising funds for Jake Gibbs' memorial, Futsal tourney Dec. 18-19Silent auction, too, deadline Friday to enter tournamentDecember 8, 2010 The Fairview Community is coming together to build a permanent memorial in memory of Jake Gibbs, an 8th grader at Fairview Middle who tragically passed away February 17, 2010 during soccer practice.
Jake touched many lives through his soccer endeavors, and his teammates decided to build a memorial in his honor. The memorial will take the form of soccer benches at the Fairview High soccer field to be used by the middle and high school for many years to come.
The target date to raise the $25,000 needed for this project is December 31, 2010.
