Bank outfit wins Futsal tournament

NADI rep Josefata Dugucagi starred for Westpac in the final of the Sportsworld-sponsored Bula Olympics Futsal Championship at the Nadi Sports Club on Sunday.

Westpac beat Bulaccino 2-1 in the final with Dugucagi nailing the winner to earn his side the $400 prize purse.

Tournament organiser Javed Ahmed said the final was exciting with high level of skill displayed by both teams.

He said Bulaccino held the early advantage with the opening goal.

"Westpac, which also included Nadi rep Uraia Loki equalised and later scored their second to win the Sportsworld trophy," Ahmed said.

In the semi-final Westpac accounted for Kings Investment while Bulaccino defeated West Diamonds in extra time.

VT Solutions beat Tourist Transport Fiji 6-1 for the plate. The Bula committee won the bowl division.

Ahmed said the tourney was a big success. He said next year's event would be bigger and better.

Meanwhile Kings Investments official Ranjesh Kumar has revealed that internal investigations were being conducted after allegations surfaced that some of their players were bribed to play badly in the semi-final.
