League and Youth Futsal Update

Scottish Futsal League

THE league will commence on January 10, with the start of Phase 2.

The league will run two leagues of eight, playing each other twice, the winner of the Premier League will enter the UEFA Futsal Cup (2011/2012).

All league contacts have been notified of the new fixtures, the league cup will continue at the end of the season.

Premier League teams – Breadalbane FC, Unreal Madrid, Fair City Santos, Wanderers, Perth Saltires, Cherrybank FC (formally FC Burghmuir), Perth City, SDIF.

League One – FC Bohemians, Bayern Bru, Fair City Pumas, Borussia Celts, Hydro Inter, Zenit St Johnstoun, Sporting Branston, Boca Rebels.

Results (December 13): League Cup Group One – Perth Saltires 12, Boca Rebels 1; Bayern Bru 1, Unreal Madrid 8; Borussia Celts 2, Perth City 8.

League Cup: Group Two – FC Santos 7, Hydro Inter 1; Cherrybank FC 4, SDIF 2. Group Three – Sporting Branston 3, FC Pumas 4.

No fixtures on December 27 and January 3.

FIXTURES for January 10: Premier League: 6.20pm – Unreal Madrid v Perth Saltires; 7pm– Breadalbane FC v Cherrybank FC; 7.40 – SDIF v FC Santos; 8.20 – Wanderers v Perth City. League One: 9pm – FC Pumas v Borussia Celts; 9.40 – Boca Rebels v Bayern Bru.


Perth Youth Futsal

THE final session of the PYF Winter 2010 session is scheduled to take place on Friday, January 7.

The new Spring 2011 season starts on January 14, and feature significant changes – Among the changes are a move to run a 6 team league for the 14/15 year old age group, and a 4 team league for the 16/17 year old age group.

The PYF Skillz School will continue to operate as usual and will be open to players aged up to 17 years old. Places are limited to 25 players, so early registration is advised. Registration in all cases is £3 per season and session fees are £2 per evening.

PYF are hosting another sitting of their PYF Level 1 Coaching Course in the new year, and are especially pleased to report that the PYF Level 2 course will be held in August and will feature a highly acclaimed national futsal team manager as lecturer.

Tickets for the PYF Xmas raffle are still available for sale, top prize is a trip for two to Old Trafford to watch a Manchester United game, or an alternative prize of a new Apple ipad. The draw was due to take place on Friday, December 17, but due to the session postponement will now take place on Friday, January 14.
