An encouraging win over Malta is what Switzerland was waiting for, during the Four Nations Tournament played in Bern on past December. The David Meyer's guys were back from the quite heavy defeats in France, beeing therefore in need of something better playing at home. That was not possible while facing the South German selection sent for the tournament by DFB, but came true the day after against the Vic Hermans selection. The Swiss selection overcame the maltese opposition through the four goals scored by Mezger, Agatic (2) and Zennhäusern. Player/Manager David Meyer is now looking for the Croatia 2012 Qualifiers preliminary round Group A in which Switzerland will move to Izmir in order to face the host country Turkey, as well as Moldova and Montenegro.
