Amir AminA total of 48 teams are vying for a grand prize of $1,000 in the Belait Shipping Company (BSC) FT Futsal Championship contested at the Multipurpose Hall of the National Sports Complex in Berakas.
Group leaders JBS, Fussball and Satria are so far the favourites in the competition after registering all wins in their respective three group matches to advance into the second round.
JBS will be joined by Alpha group second place OPD, who are level on four points with Seven Celtic but edged them due to their superior goal difference (two goals).
Meanwhile Bravo group second place Stabil FC will join Fussball into the next round after guaranteeing their berth by defeating BIBD and hosts BSC FT to collect six points.
Over in the Foxtrot group, besides Fussball, LLRC FT will also be making their way to the top.
Other teams that have guaranteed their berth in the next round are Creativol, V-Crew FT, Cheetahs FT, B 766, Warriors and DFT.
Officially opened by guest of honour Hj Muhd Nor Ariffin Dato Paduka Hj Sabtu, the BSC administration director, the two-day tournament divides the teams into 12 groups with the top two teams earning the right to advance into the next stage. The competition will resume on Jan 9 starting at 9am.
