Bulgarian National Team vs Macedonia

Bulgarian FA
Report by Alexander Nedelchev

The national Futsal team of Bulgaria recorded a win and a draw against Macedonia in two friendly games played in Blagoevgrad on december 11 12. The "Tricolor" came first under the guidance of the new coach from Varna, Venko Ivanov, who replaced former trainer Ventsislav Gavrilov. One interesting data: all goals from both matches (3:0 and 3:3 the scores) were signed by players coming from Varna, the seaside capital. The Ivanov's roster was composed of 11 players from Varna and seven from Sofia.

The first match was marked by some "troubles" involving the Macedonian technical staff: 12 minutes before Vasil Skenderovski, Macedonia coach, was sent off by the referee but refused to leave his bench. After minutes of discussions the game whistles decided to declare the end of the game. Until that disappointing moment the main character of the clash was surely the Grand Pro's striker Boycho Marev, author of an impressive hat-trick. After getting the macedonian delegation'sw apology, referees and Bulgarian FA accepted to play the second game as well.

This time both teams showed very good performances until the final 3-3 tie. Macedonians have led in the first minute through captain Branislav Ljubomir, but before the break bulgarians scored twice thanks to Boris Trendafilov and captain Victor Viktorov, both players of MFC Varna. Ljubomir again equalized, while Bulgaria weht again ahead through Trendafilov. It was Zarko Naskovski the "guilty" for the final score determination, while Skenderovski succesfully relied on the flying goalkeeper tactics. Below have a look at the "Venko" Ivanov's roster for both games vs Macedonia.
