FREE FUTSAL FOR BORO FANS!Middlesbrough Futsal Club are giving Boro fans the chance to experience futsal for free this Sunday
Boro return to national league action on Sunday against Liverpool and can go top with a result against the Merseysiders at Thornaby Pavilion and entry for this game only is free to Middlesbrough fans!
Liverpool make the journey north to take on the 2009 champions and will be coming up against their former player and Boro’s new goalkeeper Eliot Brown. The last time these two sides met on the last day of last season Boro smashed 12 second half goals past Liverpool to clinch fourth spot in the FA Futsal League, but with top spot up for grabs this week, the match will have much more at stake and Damon Shaw wants the backing of the Boro fans.
“We have always wanted to appeal to the Boro fans, which is why the badge is a version of Boro’s (old badge). They can be proud of what we are achieving for the town and we will continue to aim for. One day I’d like to be fully part of Middlesbrough Football Club, much like Barcelona, Sporting (Lisbon) and Benfica and we can be one of Europe’s top teams.
“I’ve been talking to members of the ‘Red Faction’ – Boro’s singing fans about coming to Sunday’s game to support the boys and to give them even more incentive (not that they need it with goals and action all on show!) I want to offer free entry to all Boro fans. They will either need a ticket stub or season card, or wear a Boro top! The atmosphere in the Pavilion can be amazing with just a small group of supporters making some noise!”
Middlesbrough vs. Liverpool kicks off at 1.30pm on Sunday 9th January at Thornaby Pavilion, doors opening at 12.30. Entry this week is free for Boro fans showing a ticket or wearing a top and is £1 for everybody else. Parking in Thornaby Town Centre is free on a Sunday.
