Chance to shine at futsal

Wednesday, 05 January 2011

CHILDREN will be given the chances to show off their ball skills with a four-week mini-futsal league starting in Barrow.

InsideOut Soccer will be running the indoor five-a-side competition for under-eights, under-nines and under-10s teams at Chetwynde School sports hall.

Games will be played on Saturdays on January 22 and 29, and February 5 and 12. The under-eights will start at 9am, the under-nines at approximately 10.30am and the under-10s at approximately noon.

Entries can be made by existing teams – ie junior football teams – or by groups of individuals who want to try out the game of futsal.

Each league will contain a maximum of eight teams and each team will play seven 10-minute games over the four weeks – two games in the first three weeks and one game in the final week.

All children taking part in the under-eights competition will receive a certificate of achievement, and the winners of the under-nines and under-10s leagues will receive medals.

There are a limited number of places for teams in each group. To book a place, call 01229 430857.
