Latvian futsal team through to main qualification tournament for 2012 European Championships

The Latvian men's futsal team has made it through to the main qualification tournament for the 2012 European Men's Futsal Championships after going undefeated in its preliminary round group.

Latvia won its opening group match against Iceland 5:4, then defeated Greece 4:0 and finally defeated Armenia in its final match 2:1, writes LETA.

In the main qualification round, Latvia will be in the same group as Italy, Bosnia&Herzegovina and Slovenia. These matches will be played out out in February.

A total of 24 teams will be divided into six groups of four in the main qualification round. The group winners and the five best runners-up will qualify for the final tournament.

The 2012 European Men's Futsal Championships will be played in Croatia in February of the same year.
