by
Luca Ranocchiari - Futsalplanet.com editorWaiting for two great semifinals, let's see what happened on past thursday and friday, when the
XXII Copa de Espaņa began through four interesting and eagerly awaited quarter finals.
Segovia is definitely breathing futsal during these days, what a tournament!
Barcelona Alusport vs Fisiomedia ManacorProbably, or we'd better say definitely, the worst game of quarter finals. The
manacori side paid the "cup debut" and could not be the brilliant team admired during the regular season. After some minutes of "game introduction" Barecelona proved too strong and went ahead with a
Lin goal closing a Chico+Fernandao impressive action. The brazilian power of Barcelona came then out through the wonderful shot of
Wilde: 2-0 at half time. It was again brazilian music in the second part of the game, as the
brazzurro Saad and again Wilde put the score on a clear 4-0. But agony was not yet ended for Fisiomedia: Lin and Igor took Barcelona on the final
6-0 triumph. There will more chances for Fisiomedia, experience always talks in this kind of competitions.

Benicarlo - Caja SegoviaIf you were thinking about an easy task for the home side, you were definitely wrong!
Benicarlo proved again to count on "seven lives" and took the
Jesus Velasco's side to the extra time. After the
empate a uno (
Geison for Caja Segovia,
Vadillo the equalizer for Benicarlo) in the first half, everything seemed in favour of the home idols who went ahead 1-3 through former Cartagena
Sergio Lozano and
Borja. No more chances for
Juanlu? Nope, playing with
Lolo as goleiro-linha
Benicarlo managed to stay alive, reaching first a
3-3 tie with
Xapa (not the best Cidao in this case) and
Lolo, then finding also the final 4-4 (Segovia in the meanwhile went again ahead with Geison) through a last minute goal by
Chaguinha. How to close the game in favour of the host club
Caja Segovia? Well, they were in need of the argentinean crack
Matias Lucuix, a terrific shot which gave no chances to Diogo. Caja Segovia in semifinal, a city in heaven!

Inter Movistar vs Lobelle de SantiagoA polemic ending given by a possible penalty for Inter (foul on Cico?) couldn't anyway waste the spectacle of the "usual battle" between Inter Movistar and Lobelle de Santiago, a classic clash of recent times. Lobelle was just impressive in the first half and the
2-5 score is there to prove it. When a player like
Raul Campos scores such a goal against
Luis Amado, that means the roster is 100%
confiante in their chances. The young talents coached by
Tomas De Dios were better than the highly experienced veterans of the former
maquina verde: not even the great madrilenian comeback in the second half (Eka, Gabriel and Borja) was enough, as a Cico mistake gave
David the chance to score the definitive
5-6 win for the galician club. Forty minutes of pure futsal

Triman Navarra vs ElPozo MurciaOne more thrilling game closed the quarter final series. In the play-off final replay once again the murcian side emerged victorious but just at the end of a penalty series in which the
Parrel mistake was decisive. ElPozo seemed in control in the first half, as shown by the couple of goals scored in 15 seconds by former Marfil
Dani Salgado and
Tiago De Bail. Wrong impression though: Triman was still alive and ready to fight in the second half.
Javi Eseverri and
Rafa Usin equalized, while
Kike took ElPozo ahead again. Game over? Not for Araca, who got the final 3-3 playing as goleiro-linha. No goals but a lot of emotions in the extra time, then penalties were pure delight for murcian fans. Get ready for semifinals!
Disappointment for Parrel, but Triman Navarra played a great game. No regrets. (Photo courtesy: Ruben De Pedro - LNFS)
