Megan HustwaiteTWO Fitzroy-Doncaster cricketers are building partnerships on and off the field.
Paceman Jon Fagg and all-rounder Peter Dickson have taken over the old Knox Indoor Tennis Centre and rebranded it the Eastern Indoor Sports Centre.
The centre features three multi-purpose courts and two cricket lanes.
It will play host to Futsal, indoor soccer, netball and cricket competitions.
Fagg, who runs Futsal competitions, has teamed with Dickson, a cricket coach.
“We’d been looking into the possibility of opening an indoor centre for a while,” he said.
“But, it’s pretty hard to find a venue and cricket centres can be hard because they are very seasonal.
“We couldn’t do it on our own, so we looked at this place and it seemed like a pretty good fit for everyone.”
The centre will host a grand opening on February 6.
Melbourne Vixens and Australian netballer Renae Hallinan and Australian and Victorian fast bowler Dirk Nannes will be in attendance.
There will also be Futsal and netball exhibitions and have-a-go-games.
