Eurosport pens FIFA deal

Eurosport has signed a new four-year deal with FIFA to cover a number of the governing body’s tournaments.

The agreement, which will run through to 2014, includes live rights to the FIFA Women’s World Cup as well as Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups. FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups and the FIFA Futsal World Cup are also covered by the contract.

The competitions will be aired on Eurosport and Eurosport 2 in all territories, with the exception of Scandinavia for the FIFA Women's World Cup later this year.

In Europe, the broadcaster already carries live action from the men’s and women’s UEFA European Under-17 and Under-19 Championships and also the European Futsal Championships through to 2013. Eurosport additionally has rights to beach football’s Euro Cup and Euro League through to 2012.
