Futsal WC 2012: Five Asian teams to compete

Kuala Lumpur: FIFA Executive Committee has decided that five Asian countries shall qualify to participate in the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2012 Thailand.

In a letter dated January 27, 2011, AFC informed its member associations that the five teams shall be host Thailand and four top-ranking teams from the AFC Futsal Championship 2012.

If Thailand finishes within the top four, the next team will qualify automatically.

The FIFA Executive Committee, on October 28, 2010, decided to increase the number of participating teams from 20 to 24 teams for the championship in Thailand.
