The AFC.comWomen’s league kicks-off in PalestineFriday, 11 February 2011Al Ram: The inaugural Palestine Women’s League kicked-off on Thursday with over 8000 spectators turning up for the opening match at the Feisal Al Husseini Stadium which featured Al Dyar and Sariat Ramallah.
Al Dyar’s Nevin Klib scored the historic first goal two minutes before the interval while her team-mate Walaa Hussein added a second four minutes after the restart to give the Bethlehem-based side a 2-0 victory.
Described by Palestinian Football Association President Jibril Rajoub as a “revolutionary step for women’s sport in Palestine’ the league will feature six teams,
