The AFC.comShahid Mansouri are Iran futsal champsSaturday, 19 February 2011Tehran: Shahid Mansouri have been crowned as the champions of the Iran Futsal League.
Mansouri defeated hosts Rahe Sari 2-1 and won the title with one game to spare in the league. They will now represent Iran in the AFC Futsal Club Championship this year.
Coach Reza Lak said his team had proven their doubters wrong.
“At the start of the competitions we were not regarded as a team who could win the championship,” said Lak.
“We have won the title for the first time after trying for 10 years. Now, we are going to get good results in the AFC Futsal Club Championship.”
