Azerbaijani futsal team reaches Euro-2012

The matches of second tournament of qualifier of European championship-2012 in futsal have been held in the first group at the Baku Palace of Sport.

The Azerbaijani team beat France 4:2.

After the first match Azerbaijani national team had only one goal scored, an advantage for it. Biro Jade opened the score on the third minute, making use of the excellent pass from Serjao. Meanwhile, on the 17th minute Serjao made the goalkeeper of the French team Jamel Arun to capitulate. Unfortunately, in a minute Stephan Basson reduced the gap in the score.

With the start of the second time, the Azerbaijani team encouraged by the fans, rushed forth but realization suffered like in the first time. Serjao alone could hit the French goals in the first minutes after the interval. The attacks of our team continued and the goal was scored on the 34th minute. The third goal was scored by Biro Jade. And immediately, just in a minute or a little more, Vitaliy Borisov made a hat trick after Serjao’s pass, scoring a goal. The score became 4:1. On the 37th minute the French team reduced a gap. A dangerous penalty realized by Mustafa Otmany was appointed to our team. The match ended 4:2.

A bit earlier the Spanish team beat Kazakhstan 5:0. The winner was defined on Sunday in the match between Azerbaiajn and Spain. All the same, regardless of the result of this match both teams guaranteed their participation in the final stage.

Both Azerbaijan and Spain will get to the list of five teams who took the second places and have the best indicators.

This came clear after yesterday’s match between Poland and Macedonia in group 3. The match ended 2:2. The Polish team which took the second place in the group had only 2 points before the last round and even in case of victory in the final game they won’t be able to outstrip Azerbaijan which already has 6 points.

Also Spain, Russia, Portugal, Italy and Slovenia have already ensured their place in Euro-2012. The final stage will be held in Croatia in February 2012.
