Fab 4: Super Red FT KO Bankers To Lift Title

Bandar Seri Begawan - Super Red FT painted the town red at the weekend - taking the Liverpool Supporters Club of Brunei (LSCB) Futsal Challenge title after defeating Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) 4-0 in the final.

The day-long tournament was contested at the Public Works Department (1KR) Sports Complex in Berakas and was exclusive to members of the LSCB.

Super Red FT, who are made up of players from Kota Ranger Supporters Club that captured the Aewon LSCB Futsal League last year, overcame Reds Legend 2-1 to make it to the final while SCB defeated Paisley FC 2-0 in their semi-final to set up the encounter.
SCB beat Super Red FT in their Group B match early on Sunday, winning 2-0, thus the final victory was sweet revenge for the champions.

Steven Yeo, the manager of Super Red FT, was delighted with the team's performance.

"We were not ready for the group match (which they lost) but in the end we were very satisfied with our achievements," said Yeo, in an interview with The Brunei Times, after the victory.

"We practise twice a week and it has paid off. Now we're just looking forward to participating in more competitions," he added.

A total of 10 teams divided into two groups participated in the competition.

Gerrard FC, Pirates of Anfield, Paisley FC, Reds Legend and YNWA made up Group A while Group B comprised of Super Red FT, Anak Buah Dalglish, Suarez Legacy, D'Shankley and SCB.
