AFC Futsal Club C’ship draw in March

Kuala Lumpur: The draw for the AFC Futsal Club Championship Qatar 2011 will be held on 19 March in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

The draw for the second edition, which will be played from June 26 to July 1, 2011, is scheduled for 2000 hours local time.

The clubs in the draw are from: Qatar (hosts), Iran, Japan, Thailand, Lebanon, China and Uzbekistan. In order to determine the eighth team from the two bottom seeded countries, there will be a single play-off match between clubs from Iraq and Indonesia (on June 22).

The eight-team Finals will begin four days later with the first three days reserved for group matches. The semi-finals will be played on June 30 while the final will be played on July 1.

In the Finals, eight teams will be divided into two groups of four and top teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Iran champions Foolad Mahan Sepahan won the inaugural edition of the championship by beating Qatar’s Al Sadd 5-2 in the final.
