Cobras reach final of futsal competition

DRIFFIELD Cobras under-9s reached the final of an indoor five-a-side futsal competition.

The finals day of the Warners indoor competition was held last Saturday for the five teams who had all come through earlier qualifying groups.

The format involved a league, with each team playing four matches and the top 2 meeting in the final.

Cobras beat both North Ferriby and Springhead 1-0, drew 0-0 with Sproatley and lost 1-0 to St Andrews to qualify for the final.

Harry Maddox scored both Driffield’s goals on the way to the final.

Despite going on to lose the final 2-0 against the unbeaten St Andrews, the boys performed superbly all afternoon with tremendous effort and attitude.

The Cobras squad was Harvey Dixon, Lewis Johnson, Arran Johnson, Sam Artley, Harry Maddox, Finn Warren-Lambert and Max Morley.
