The Borneo Post82 teams vie for Tarat PBB youth Futsal titleMarch 5, 2011, SaturdayKUCHING: The Futsal tournament which is part of the 1Malaysia Youth Programme for Tarat constituency is receiving overwhelming response.
The organising chairman Stanley Sila said the participants were youths and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) youth members from the various sub-branches of Tarat.
Stanley, who is also Tarat PBB Youth chief said the tournament also attracted youth church members, associations and volunteers from the Tarat.
The kick-off was performed by Tarat assemblyman Roland Sagah last month at the new Futsal Court at Kampung Tarat Melawi, in Serian district.
The village was selected to officiate the tournament, to coincide with the opening of the new futsal court.
Stanley said besides the court at Kampung Tarat Melawi, the other two venues for the tournament are at Kampung Peraya and Krian in Padawan area.
“We have there venues for the convenience of the participants as they can chose to play at the nearest court from their village,” he said.
The tournament, according to him, is opened to the 82 villages in Tarat constituency and is divided into 11 zones; Tarat, Ampungan, Panchor, Serin, Tebia, Link Road, Tijirak, Simpok, Patung, Senah and Depan.
The zone champions will compete in the final next month.
