JO/SKS Hoist FC champion

Kuala Belait - JO/SKS Hoist FC emerged as champions of the Belait District Invitational Futsal Tournament 2011, held at the Mumong Sports Complex, in Kuala Belait yesterday.

The two-day event, a successful event organised by QAF Oilfield Services Sdn Bhd (QOS) in cooperation with the Belait District Branch ofYouth and Sports Department saw a total of 20 teams participating.

Second place went to QOS Gladiators from QOS Sdn Bhd followed by Maktab Kejuruteraan Jefri Bolkiah in third place.

The opening ceremony featured an official kickoff by Hj Rosli and Dave Walters from QOS Sdn Bhd and the closing ceremony ended with a speech by Hj Zulkifli Hj Tengah, Head of Jabatan Belia dan Sukan, Belait District Branch.

The tournament was divided into four groups and five teams were drawn in each group. All four groups played on Saturday with the top two teams from each group advancing to the second round (quarterfinals, semifinals and final) yesterday.

The prizes for the top three teams included trophies, cash and medals. Certificates of participation were also presented to players from the Government School.

The main objective of the tournament was to encourage good relationships between private companies, government sectors and school from Belait District.
