Manchester Futsal Club launch SportsVest Futsal Tournament

Staff from Manchester Futsal Club will be flying to Spain this week to deliver an international student futsal tournament in the heart of the Spanish futsal homeland.

The tournament is taking place in Lloret De Mar near Barcelona as part of Sportvest 2011 where thousands of students from around the world will come together to compete in a range of sports. SportsVest has a huge following as students take time out from their studies and head to the sunshine over the Easter Break.

Manchester Futsal Club will be responsible for showcasing futsal at this year’s event, adding yet another international tournament to their growing futsal event portfolio. The teams this year will be made up from Universities that have taken part in the BUCS Futsal competition.

The partnership with Sportvest is a fantastic prospect for Manchester Futsal Club and they are hoping to spread the good word of futsal far and wide and prove to the Spanish that we can play a bit of futsal as well! Once the event becomes established the club are certain more university futsal clubs will join to make it a competitive annual tournament.

General Manager Simon Wright said: “We understand that the university sector already plays a key role in the growth and development of futsal within the UK. Not many futsal players in England will get the opportunity to play futsal in Spain. Sportsvest and Manchester Futsal Club hope to make this a reality for as many people as possible!”
