Daily Express47 players shortlisted for centralised trainingTuesday, April 19, 2011Kota Kinabalu: A total of 47 players have made the Safa West Coast Zone shortlist for centralised training.
They will represent the Zone at the upcoming Sabah FA Futsal Inter-Zone tournament, which would be held at Borneo Sports Arena (BSA) in Kolombong from April 22 to 24.
A selection panel that was headed by Mohd Asfraaf Fong Abdullah, identified the players during the Zone's Inter-District tournament at BSA over the weekend.
Safa West Coast Zone will be competing in all the three categories, namely the men and women's open as well as the boys' Under-20 category.
In making the announcement, Safa West Coast Zone Deputy Chairman, Alijus Sipil, said they have named the head coaches for the respective teams with Azman Soibah taking charge of men's team and Laini Ahing the women's team.
Rusli Hassan will coach the boys' Under-20 squad.
He said the players will report for centralised training (under their respective coaches) at BSA on April 19.
Alijus, who is also Safa Bandaraya Chairman and Sabah FA Secretary General also hoped that the players would give their best to achieve the best result at the state-level tournament, which will be a platform to select players for the State team.
