by Mohammad Abdullah

Bandar Seri Begawan - A two-day technical futsal workshop that was organised by the Co-Curriculum Department, under the Ministry of Education took place yesterday at the Dato Mahawangsa Primary School in Lambak and was attended by 116 primary and secondary school teachers

The teachers received their certificates of participation from the Director of the Co-Curriculum Department, Awang Hj Kassim bin Awang Mohammad Yassin, at a ceremony.

The Head of Sports and Games under the Co-Curriculum Department, Pg Jusri bin Pg Hj Hassim, during his opening speech said that the response towards the workshop was overwhelming.

He added that the workshop was facilitated by Awang Bakri bin Haji Bintang along with several futsal coaches and that the content of the course covered the theory and technical aspects of futsal's rules and regulations. Practical scenarios were also acted out where teachers had to referee games played between students.

Pg Jusri expressed his hope that the workshop participants would pass down the knowledge gained to the students under their care, as well as utilise the lessons learnt in physical education and CCA subjects.

By applying the knowledge and experience gained through the workshop, participants will not only help improve the overall standards of futsal in their respective schools, but will also be able to improve the quality of game played throughout the country.
