Perthshire AdvertiserScottish Futsal UpdateMay 10 2011THE Perth Youth Futsal season restarts on August 26 and will continue with the same format as usual. Applications are invited from teams wishing to participate in the 14/15 years old and 16/17 years old groups, as well as any player wishing to participate in the PYF Skillz school, which is open to any player aged up to 14 years old. Places are limited in each group, so early applications are advised.
The annual PYF Open tournament takes place on June 25 and 26 and entries are invited from any team interested in participating. Age groups are 14/15 and 16/17 years old, as well as an adult group.
The club's Perth Saltires team were in league cup action last night and have another group game on May 23. A recent flurry of good results in the league has ensured that the young team have secured their place in the top division for next season.
The club are also pleased to announce that Unreal Madrid, who recently won the Scottish Futsal League, have rejoined PYF and will be participating in the UEFA Futsal Cup this summer. Many of the players were in the Perth Saltires squad which won the league and cup double last season and so it's the second season in a row they have been crowned Scottish Champions. Preparations are underway for the UEFA Futsal Cup draw which takes place at UEFA HQ in Nyon, Switzerland on July 6.
The PYF AGM will take place at Bell’s Sports Centre on Saturday, June 4, with a 10am start. With many interesting developments and changes in the pipeline for the 2011/12 season, the club are looking for additional volunteer coaches / admin help / committee members / sponsors to help the club continue making progress.
