Police, Education clinch Maksak futsal title

KAPIT: Police and Education won the Kapit Maksak Futsal Championships in their men’s and women’s category to qualify for the state level Maksak Futsal in September at Bletih Stadium.

In the men’s category, Police Kapit champion emerged champions, Education (PSKPP) took the second place while Police Song finished third.

Other result in the women’s category, PSKPP won the championship, Police Kapit second place while Medical finished third.

Kapit Deputy Resident Mohd Ikhmal Abdullah officiated at the closing ceremony cum prizes giving on Thursday at Bletih Stadium.

Earlier, Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who officiated at the opening ceremony, said sports are important to all strata of society.

He called on the civil servants to get involved in sports for healthy living.

Kapit Maksak Futsal Championships was held at Bletih Stadium starting May 15.

The event, organised by Land and Survey Department (L&S), was participated by 26 teams.

Meanwhile, Maksak Kapit chairman Dahim Nadot, who is also the Resident, has proposed futsal to be organised annually.

He added that this year Maksak Kapit had organise badminton, futsal and ping pong tournaments.
