Friday, 27 May 2011

A theme song for the Futsal stars entitled ‘Hope for Tomorrow’ will be launched this Saturday at the Water Front night club.

Composed by young and talented singer Jahboy the song message was to encourage young youths to believe in themselves.

The composing of the song came about after owner and manager of Nice Bola shop at the Heritage Park Hotel, Kelly Lofthouse decided to produce a television ad with One News aimed as a promotional tool to encourage youths in the country to believe in themselves and reach for their goals.

Elliot Ragomo and his team Kurukuru were picked as the ideal role model and the idea of composing a song was formed.

Song composer Kevin Hatigeva (Jahboy) said the song was written to motivate young children of this country.

“The theme song was produced with Rebelle Inc,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the Kurukuru, team captain Ragomo said they feel very honored with the theme song.

While recently in Fiji for the preliminaries for the World Cup the ad and the song was played continuously in the Futsal arena.

“Jahboy is the team’s favorite singer and to have our theme song written and sang by him was a privilege that the whole team is very happy about,” he said.

Ragomo said the boys are very happy because the song will not only promote the Kurukuru team but also the young generation of Solomon Islands.

However, there are two versions of the Kurukuru theme song, the Nice Bola version which has a video clip on Youtube at nicebola surf and a Rebelle Inc version, both of which will be on the CD.

Jahboy is managed by Rebelle Inc.

The version by Rebelle Inc, runs for three and half minutes while the Nice Bola version runs for two and half minutes.

As part of launching Jahboy will give a percentage of the sales of CDs to the San Isidro Care Centre (Aruligo) as they were also featured inside the Nice Bola video clip and an example of youth striving in challenging circumstances.

Nice Bola, Kurukuru and Jahboy with Rebelle Inc and One News personally thanked the founder of San Isidro brother George and his students for participating in the promotional clip.

CD’s of the theme song will be available for sale next week for $60 at Paoa FM, Wantok FM, Pro31, King Solomon Hotel, Honiara Dispensary, Kavachino and Honiara Hardware.
