Ardus finish third

Tashkent: Ardus, Uzbekistan’s representative in the AFC Futsal Club Championship, finished third in the four-team Ardus Cup International Futsal Tournament recently.

The Uzbek champions will face Al Sadaka (Lebanon), GH Bank RBAC (Thailand) and Shahid Mansouri FC (Iran) in Group B of the continental championship from June 26 in Doha, Qatar.

Ardus began the Ardus Cup campaign in style beating the Vietnam national team 4-2 with two goals each from Jamol Sharipov and Konstantin Sviridov.

In the second game, Ardus held Russian outfit Norilsky Nikel 2-2, thanks to goals from Dilshod Irsaliev and Jamoliddin Sharipov.

Their title hopes were dashed when they lost the final game to Azerbaijan’s eventual champions Neftchi 1-0.
