VietNamNetIndoor footballers to play for Thai League teamsVietNamNet Bridge –Six footballers of Pham Gia Auto team will play for Thailand's Lampang United and Bangkok FC in the Thai futsal (indoor football) League, the team said yesterday, June 16.
It would be the first time Vietnamese futsal players had competed for teams abroad and followed the signing last week of three-month loan contracts.
Top players including Do Bao Trung, Pham Van Lai, Ha Anh Duy will play for Lampang United, who won Thailand's top-team tournament in May. The other three, Trinh Cong Hoang, Nguyen Thanh Phong and goalie Tran Ngoc Ly, will play for Bangkok FC, said team representative Pham Huu Thanh.
"We had friendly matches against Lampang United, Bangkok FC and Chiang Mai during a 12-day training session in Thailand early this month where managers of two Thai teams, Lampang United and Bangkok, offered our top players loan contracts," Thanh said.
"These players will compete in the Thai Futsal League from July to October."
The HCM City-based team, who made its debut in 2004, have 24 players, of which three are national team members.
Thanh also said the team planned to build a 10,000sq m futsal centre in Binh Chanh district for a long-term training.
Pham Gia Auto also organises an annual futsal tournament in HCM City, which draws around 120 teams.
