Bayside BulletinFutsal gets venue14 Jul, 2011FUTSAL (five-a-side indoor soccer) has taken a major leap forward with a regular playing venue finally secured for the sport here.
For the past 20 years, Futsal players had to travel oustide the Redlands to play the game but Global Futsal has just agreed on a hiring arrangement with Capalaba State College to utilise their recently purpose-built sports hall on the Junior Campus.
Starting on Monday, July 25, organised games will be held for all age groups from seven year olds to seniors, in men's, women's, mixed, boys and girls categories.
Further Futsal playing nights will be announced in the near future.
Futsal is an indoor football discipline with teams of five players plus reserves, who can sub on and off at any time, contesting two 18 minute halves.
As the only club in the Redland that is endorsed through FIFA, the world governing body and as members of Football Queensland, Global Futsal offers all its players the chance to play in the official Queensland Futsal League.
Playing in the Queensland Futsal League gives you the chance of selection to represent the organisation in their overseas touring program.
Cost to play is minimal compared with other Futsal clubs in and around the area.
The club's charter is to get players on the park and promoting the sport, rather than the big profits.
Unlike other clubs, Global Futsal has subsidised the cost to players with a minimal registration which covers affiliations and insurance requirements and a small match fee to cover court hire, referees and equipment costs.
Global Futsal will have its own web site were games times and results are published
