A great and extensive career, still not over. The world "end" came yesterday night, but it was not his choice. And maybe is not the end, let's hope there's some futsal pitch there, over the rainbow. His name was
Emerson Rodrigues Rocha but you know, futsal is a matter of
apelidos so that he was
Messinho in our little world. 38 years old, he was playing for
Associação Desportivo Vale do Sol Futsal (ADVF) in the second division of the Rio Grande do Sul federation (Série Prata, futsal gaúcho in other words). July 30th, his last game against AGE, in Guaporè. A sudden disease, a tragic death (probably due to cardiac arrest as reported) on the futsal pitch. One more craque leaving us, about two years after
Rabico, sad days for futsal.
Messinho was a well known name in brazilian and international futsal, having represented the best
gauchos clubs like UCS, UPF, Atlântico Erechim, Carlos Barbosa and Ulbra. He was also a shining star of the Russian Superleague, wearing the Dinamo, Spartak Moscow and Spartak Shelkovo.
May you rest in peace, craque. Our condolences to the Messinho's family in this hard moment.
