Men's league gearing up for playoffs

The Calvo's Insurance Men's Futsal League continued Sunday night at Agueda Johnston Middle School gym. Here is a look at the results:

•Quality Distributors FC 12, Fuji Ichiban Espada FC 3: Scott Spindel notched a double hat trick to help preserve a perfect record for Quality (7-0) and move him into second place in scoring in the league. Jimmy Bush added a hat trick while Doug Lauder, Paul Long and Matt Cruz added one goal apiece. Natsuki Recella, Ryota Nault and Brandon Johnson scored one each for Fuji (3-5).

•Guam Shipyard 5, Paintco Strykers 4: Jonahan Romero scored his second goal of the match with less than 30 seconds left to lift Shipyard (7-0) over the Strykers (5-2). Ajay Pothen also had a brace for Shipyard, who face Quality in the season finale tonight for the top seed in the playoffs. Shipyard's Jason Cunliffe added the other goal to take his league-leading total to 26. Hiro Asoshina scored twice for the Strykers, who dropped their second match in a row after starting strongly. Randy Santos and Shawn Spindel also scored.

•MDA Cobras 9, CSC Sidekicks 4: Brandon Casil's hat trick helped power the Cobras (4-3) to the win. Eddie Lorenzo, Gerard Aguon, Vincent Carbullido, Aaron Cruz, Vinancio Sioco and Gregory Rodriguez all scored to complete a team effort. TJ Shimizu and Paul Moroni added to Roy Abril's brace for the Sidekicks, who fall to 1-6.

•Sinajana Ambassadors 7, NAPA 6: Cyle Tass and Tony Flores each notched a hat trick to give the Ambassadors (1-6) their first win of the season. Nicolas Cabuhat added the other score. Bernard Bansil and Matt Munoz each had a brace and Robert Torres and Joseph Taitano added one each for NAPA (1-6), but time ran out before the tying goal could be found.

The regular season finishes today with the following matches:

•6:30 p.m.: Quality Distributors FC vs. Guam Shipyard.

•7:30 p.m.: Paintco Strykers vs. CSC Sidekicks.

•8:30 p.m.: FC Tiyan vs. NAPA.

•9:30 p.m.: MDA Cobras vs. Sinajana Ambassadors.

•Bye: Fuji Ichiban Espada FC.
