New crest for the Middlesbrough Futsal Club
BORO UNVEIL NEW CREST

MIDDLESBROUGH Futsal Club are going into a new era and will be backed up by a brand new crest to mark the new beginning. The new crest will adorn the hearts of the new kit, which will be unveiled later this week.

The new crest, designed by Oli Riches hasn't deviated much from the original, but has been redrawn to give it a more professional look while also making the lion stand out more. The lion azure, from the de Brus family is the centre piece of the new crest, adapted from the original lion on the Middlesbrough Civic crest.

The circular shape has been kept intact, despite much deliberation of shields. The circle came out on top due to the short history of the club and not wanting to neglect that, but build upon it.
The font has been given a modern feel, much in keeping with a lot of new badges. Middlesbrough Futsal Club is a 21st century club and the style of the badge reflects that.

Damon Shaw, the club founder (and designer of the original) said, "it wasn't a case of changing it, just making it look more professional. We are about to go into a new era, one that we are ready for on all fronts and will see a host of changes. This crest will be the one that will see the start of professionalism and hopefully will see a lot of success. We now have a strong identity and one that the people of Middlesbrough will have a strong allegiance to."

The new crest will first be worn when Middlesbrough travel to Barcelona for their pre season tour and can be seen in action in their first home match on 2nd October at Thornaby Pavilion.
Middlesbrough Futsal Club are currently on the lookout for sponsors for 2011-2012 and for as little as £300 your company could be aligned with England’s most popular club. Visit www.BoroFutsal.com for more details.
