US National team looking for new players

SOUTH COAST SOCCER CITY TO HOST U.S. NATIONAL FUTSAL TEAM IN SEPTEMBER

U.S. Soccer and the U.S. Futsal National Team will stage an elite player identification camp from Sept. 12-15 at South Coast Soccer City

Keith Tozer, Head Coach of the US Mens National Futsal Teams announced the first ever National ID Camp last month and the response has been very positive.

The purpose of the national ID camp is to review players for identification for the US National Team to represent our country in upcoming futsal events. The most prominent upcoming Futsal event is the Futsal World Cup in 2012.

Potential U.S. Futsal ID Camp Attendee,

From September 12 through 15 the United States Soccer Federation will be holding an Identification Camp for Futsal players to be considered for the U.S. Futsal National Team which will participate in CONCACAF Qualifying in 2012 and potentially the 2012 World Cup in Thailand. The camp will take place in Torrance, Calif.

This camp will serve as an introduction to the highest standard of Futsal within the U.S. and therefore space is extremely limited and will be by invitation only. During the three days of training attendees will be working with myself along with my U.S. Futsal National Team Staff.

Attached you will find an application to fill out in order that we can obtain general information about each potential player. I, along with the help of my staff and your references, will then begin the process of officially inviting those chosen. Please note that you must be an American citizen and have the ability to obtain a U.S. passport in order to participate.

It should be noted that for this event, you will be responsible for your own travel, hotel, transportation, and equipment costs.

This ID Camp is a tremendous opportunity to be a part of as U.S. Soccer National Team, competing alongside the top players in the nation while facing the world’s best teams. With the commitment and hard work that you put in, this is the next step to becoming a national team player and representing your country on the largest Futsal stage.

If you are chosen, travel logistics and hotel information will be provided to you to help with your planning.

South Coast Soccer City is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the sport of Futsal. The facility is housed in a 73,000 square-foot building in Torrance with five Futsal fields, including an international size field, and will also host the U.S. Futsal National Team from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1 in their first official training camp of 2011.

The ID camp from Sept. 12-15 has been designed to identify the top Futsal players in the country, with an eye toward strengthening the U.S. team that will attempt to qualify for the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Thailand.

The camp will serve as an introduction to the highest standard of Futsal within the U.S. and therefore space is extremely limited and will be by invitation only. Players selected to attend the ID camp will have a chance to become part of the team's player pool and to compete at the highest level of the sport in the United States and potentially against the world's best national teams.

Keith Tozer is looker for players who can help make the USA great ... and explained to SoccerNation that there are many different types of players and the ones he looks for the most are talented, skilled and eager to learn.

Following the U.S. Futsal Team's two camps at South Coast Soccer City, Tozer will select a roster that will represent the United States at the 2011 Grand Prix of Futsal, an elite annual international tournament taking place in Brazil from Oct. 14 to 24.
