Excess Bidnija defeated but fare better against CF Eindhoven

21 August 2011

An early goal scored by Zouthane sent all the Maltese delegation thinking like it was a repeat of the first match but it was not the case as Florin Anton’s players kept their concentration till the very last minute to register a more respectable score (8-2) than that in their debut.

The Dutch team CF Eindhoven were not happy with the end result since they forced till the very last second for a plus nine score sheet in order to have a better goal average in the case of a draw in their last group stage against the hosts Zelezarec.

Anton opted again to start the game with Brian Baldacchino between the goals, Alexander Ribic, Vojko Martinovic, Clint cope and himself as starters.

When Zouthane scored twice in the first eight minutes of play for the prospective tournament winners it looked like Excess RP Bidnija were about to throw in the towel, but two Serbian minds on court had other ideas.

Vojko Martinovic was successful to net the ball after a collective team build up action for 2-1. This goal sent the good message to CF Eindhoven since they quickly made the score 5-1 with two goal from master of ceremonies El Allouchi and another goal by Zouthane.

Yet again it looked like a come back was in the pipeline for the Maltese as Martinovic scored a fine goal for the 5-2 to send the Maltese delegation and players for the half time talk on a high.

The Maltese side suffered a further three goals without replay in the second half.

Yesterday a rest day for all the teams as they prepare for the final day (today) of this UEFA Futsal Cup Tournament 2011.

The last match for Excess RP Bidnija is to be played today at 6pm against Istanbul Universitesi of Turkey.
