Young players are being offered the chance to make a name for themselves in the Futsal world, as well as achieving a BTEC Diploma in Sports Studies through a new full-time educational programme, backed by the Saints Foundation.
If you have yet to decide on your future education pathway, then come along to the Saints Foundation Open evening at St Mary's Stadium on Thursday 25th August at 6pm, where we are recruiting our first group of scholars.
The scholarship mirrors the environment of the elite scholarship programme at Staplewood, combining a good education with a football development programme designed to improve the each player's ability.
In summary, the Futsal Scholarship programme offers the following:-
It is a two year programme, consisting of the following outcomes;
o Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport - Up to 3 A Levels
o Regular coaching with Club coaching staff
o Represent Saints in a National Futsal League
o Sports Leaders Awards
o Coaching Awards, such as the beginners guide to Futsal and the FA level 1 coaching qualification
o Work Experience and part time employment opportunities with the Saints Foundation.
In addition the squad will also represent Southampton Football Club in the Futsal National Youth League, wearing the famous red and white striped shirts and competing against other professional clubs competing to be crowned 'National Futsal Champions'.
The programme is limited to 17 scholars and there are just a few spaces left.
